Justus is a doctoral student in the EP-DT group and is affiliated with Hamburg University.
He obtained his M.Sc. degree from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His work at the Institute of Experimental Particle Physics (ETP) at KIT assessed the operational readiness and reliability of silicon strip detector module prototypes for an application inside the upgraded outer layers of the CMS silicon tracker. Furthermore, with the development and commissioning of the Karlsruhe Infrared Array (KIRA) a new possibility for functional tests of silicon sensor modules using high-power IR LEDs was introduced by his thesis.
Within EP-DT Justus is working on silicon pixel sensor R&D with a focus on monolithic and hybrid pixel detector technologies for future collider experiments. He focuses on pixel detector characterization with purpose-built experimental test setups in laboratory measurements and beam-tests.
