The topic of PhD concerns the design of ultralight mechanical support for future tracking detectors with integrated liquid cooling substrates. The new detectors design will have to cope with unprecedented requirements on minimum material budget, tight stability, extremely high radiation levels and large surface coverage.
First investigations are focusing on microvascular channels network inside carbon composite realized with Sacrificial fibers.
