Joshua is an experimental particle physicist with a keen interest in software development and data analysis. He obtained his physics degree from the University of Göttingen and has been a member of the ATLAS Collaboration since his undergraduate days. Throughout his career he has been actively involved in various aspects of the experiment, including performance studies and the search for new physics. Joshua joined CERN as a PhD student in the Wolfgang Gentner Programme, where his interests shifted towards the development of high-precision fast calorimeter simulations, an essential component of the physics programme of the ATLAS experiment. He is the lead developer of the FastCaloSimV2 package for fast calorimeter simulation, which is embedded in the state-of-the-art fast simulation tool AtlFast3 that is employed by the ATLAS Collaboration since the end of Run 2 of the Large Hadron Collider.
