Dr Rodrigo José da Silva (RJS) holds a PhD in Materials Science from UFSJ (Brazil), which included a research exchange at the Bristol Composites Institute, in the Aerospace Engineering Programme of the University of Bristol (UK). He also earned an MSc and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from UFSJ, specializing in Materials and Manufacturing Processes. He is an R&D Mechanical Engineer in the Detector Technologies group (EP-DT) at CERN, focusing on structural analysis, material selection, and the development of advanced structural and thermal composite materials for innovative detector designs within the EP R&D programme for future experiments (FCC). Before joining CERN, he worked for six years as a Research Engineer at the Centre for Innovation and Technology in Composite Materials (Brazil), conducting various studies published in the most prestigious journals in the field of composite materials and structures. https://lnk.bio/rjs.phd
